In 1992 production of the Skipper 17 by Richmond Marine ceased, and the moulds were sold to Moreton Marine Productions of Lincoln, England.
Moreton Marine introduced their own modifications, including a well in the cockpit for the outboard motor, lower shrouds plated to the toe rail, an adjustable backstay, extra ballast for improved stability, an improved interior, and smart new graphics. There was also a new name - the Eagle 525, named after the street in which the factory was located. A tabernacle and A-frame mast raising gear were now supplied as standard. A Hallmark Dipper One braked trailer was also specified.
In 1999 the Eagle 525 was revised again with more sail area and yet more ballast (she now floated noticeably lower in the water than the original Skipper 17). After a production run of about 160 boats, manufacture ceased in 2003 as it was deemed no longer economically viable.
